  • How would you like to live in a 550-cubic meter steel container with no windows for 18 months? To simulate a voyage to Mars?  Well, the Mars 500 experiment includes many volunteers willing to do just that. In May 2010 a group of six people will be locked in a metal capsule to simulate the conditions onboard a spacecraft on a round trip to the Red Planet. It will be a test like no other but the simulation is necessary to find out how humans will survive such long interplanetary journey. Check out ESA's website http://www.esa.int/esaMI/Mars500/  to learn more about this exciting European/Russian experiment.
